From humble beginnings to European adventures: Meet Rachael, the owner & creator

Let me take you back to where it all began. As a Midwest girl with dreams of the stage, I found myself performing in magnificent theaters across London, New York, and various locations in the United States. But it was those moments in between, those European adventures that stole my heart and sparked a brilliant idea in April 2016. That's when For The Story Vacations came to life. I was determined to create an exceptional experience for our clients, something far beyond the ordinary "Travel Agent" routine.

Living the European dream: Exploring the continent, one adventure at a time

To truly understand and curate the most unforgettable experiences for you, I realized I needed to immerse myself in European culture fully. So, in November 2016, my husband (Keith) and I packed our bags and embarked on an incredible journey to Paris. Since then, we've become perpetual travelers, exploring the wonders of Europe and unraveling its secrets.

I spend countless hours researching the hidden gems, selecting only the finest hotels, discovering the most mouthwatering restaurants, and seeking out extraordinary adventures. Along the way, I've been fortunate enough to build a remarkable network of friends, local guides, drivers, and photographers who share my passion for creating unforgettable memories.

Unveiling a new chapter: Elopements and intimate weddings

Our journey took an exciting turn as we branched out to offer elopement planning services. With my background working alongside one of New York City's top wedding planners and my own firsthand experience of having two weddings just a week apart—one in Ireland and the other in my hometown of Kansas City—I bring a fresh perspective to crafting unforgettable wedding moments. Our resident coordinator, Sarah, who meticulously organized my wedding day right down to the smallest details, adds her expertise to the mix. Before joining For The Story Vacations, she even ran her own bridal boutique. Nobody knows weddings better.
